Ein an und für sich edles und sehr schön anzusehendes Set, welches aber leider mit enormen Mängeln behaftet ist. Finden wir heraus ob es sich dennoch lohnt...

Secret Garden

a classy looking but very unbalanced set

1. card quality

The thickness of the cards as well as the general quality is all right. Unfortunally the knifes of the machine that cut the cards were probably not sharp enough. On the one hand the cards are slightly oval. On the other the edges of them appear to be slightly shredded. Inside a folder this does not catch the eye too much but hurts the overall score.

2. nuanced rarity levels

While the SR set uses effects in a very conservative way, higher rarities don´t hold back. The SSRs are really nice as well as the puzze pieces. They do look significant. But aiming for a full set of them is hard. Given the low pull rate it might take you 10 boxes or more to complete a puzzle. If you are into that kind of torture you may evaluate this box higher.

3. pull ratio

3 Hits in 100 Cards is bad. What`s worse is that only SR cards count as a non-hit. And the SR set only has 27 cards. That means that mathematically you will complete the SR set over 3 Times with one box. This is a waste and no fun. So buying many boxes will leave you with dozends of SR sets and nothing in between. 6! sit down.

4. foiling quality

The SR set, what makes 97% of the box, is kept rather simple. No bight holo effects or rainbow foilings or any other kind of effects catch immediately the eye. The cards appear, compared to other sets, relatively simple but also classy. If you have a closer look at them you realize that there is indeed a foiling layer over some parts of the model. It only has a slight effect but that underlines the classy look even more. Unfortunally the effect is barely visible once the are in a folder. On higher rarities more obvious foilings and effects are used.

5. the backside

The backside is kept simple and clean. Because of the use of "decal" foilings and a slightly textured ground the back is consistent with the overall classy style. Unfortunally the whole backpicture is not centered on all cards. Its slightly off to the left.

6. artwork quality

verdict:

Here the set shines again. Sure the Artworks are not overloaded with effects but that is totally fine with me. Very fine details like straines of hair or water bubbles on the skin as well as the choise of Artworks give this set a lot of personality. The style is very consistent and the minimal foilings enhance the pictures rather than to distract from them.

Fire and ice. This is how i would describe this Box. The whole set is, at least for the normal collector, not recommendable especially because of the horrible pull ratio. On top of that are quality issues with with cutline on the sides of the card. Also the very tiny SR set of only 27 cards and no "in between" rarity is kind of a bad joke. The whole set would not even score a 50% rating. Well depending on how much you are able to spend. But since the SR set is 3 times in a box and it seperates well in your collection and because of its classy look I would recommend getting one Box for this set. But only one...
